Rod Nunn, Director of Education and Workforce Innovation, Office of Governor Matt Blunt
Roderick Nunn was recently appointed Director of Education and Workforce Innovation by Missouri Governor Matt Blunt. In this unique capacity, Rod serves as Executive Director of the Missouri P-20 Council; principal advisor to the Governor on math, engineering, technology and science initiatives as well as other high profile projects aimed at aligning education, workforce and economic development systems to help improve Missouri's long-term economic competitiveness.
Rod previously served as Director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development's Division of Workforce Development since June of 2005, after serving two Illinois Governors as a state workforce administrator. In this capacity, he was responsible for leading Missouri's public workforce system; self sufficiency employment and training programs for low-income populations; and high wage business and industry training programs. Nunn is a respected workforce professional and is often called upon to contribute to the national dialogue on how state workforce systems can be transformed and re-imagined in the New Economy.
Mr. Nunn has a master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield and a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. He also completed the Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government.
